The Digital Expert Alliance, a consortium of twelve small digital companies, has been selected to participate in a major framework agreement for Yle's Application Development, Design and Maintenance Services 2024-2028 (YLE20230049) tender.
The total estimated value of the framework agreement over the next four years is €35 million. In similar demanding tenders, larger companies usually appear very strong, but participating as a group also allowed smaller companies to succeed with excellent quality scores.
The cluster's member companies all have extensive experience in the sector and a significant pool of expertise behind them. The group achieved excellent quality scores in the tendering process, a testimony to its expertise and professionalism.
"It is important that smaller players are not excluded from projects of social importance simply because it is more challenging for them to meet all the requirements of the tendering process. This is why we decided to pool our expertise and join as a group. We will certainly see more of this in the future," says Harri Kulmala of the Digital Expert Alliance.
Digital Expert Alliance member companies are mainly employee-owned. They represent a broad range of expertise in technology, application development and user-centred design. The companies are grouped together as equal partners.
"It is really great that so many smaller companies are now involved in the project through the grouping. This kind of cooperation allows for open, effective discussion and exchange of ideas between the different actors. This will definitely benefit Yle as well," Kulmala concludes.
